About Pastor Hoyt Bynum, Jr.
Inspirational, Motivational and Uplifting are some of the words used to describe Rev. Hoyt Bynum, Jr. A gifted musician, preacher and teacher of the Gospel. He is the son of Rev. Hoyt Bynum, Sr. and the late Rev. Naomi O. Bynum. Pastor Bynum is a dedicated and devoted family man, married to the lovely Shawna N. Bynum. They have two children, Hoyt Caleb Bynum and Naomi Rochelle Bynum.
Pastor Bynum is a 1993 graduate of Gardner-Webb University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Sociology. He attended GWU on a football scholarship. In 2001, he was inducted into GWU Gallery of Distinguished Graduates. He is currently enrolled at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary & Graduate School, where he is working on a Master of Arts in Religion & Christian Leadership.
Professionally, Pastor Bynum has devoted 26 years working with non-profit organizations: 14 years as an executive professional with three Boys & Girls Clubs of America organizations and the past six years as Preisdent/CEO with the Children Shelter of the Upstate, Henderson County Habitat for Humanity and Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce in Simpsonville, South Carolina. He currently serves in the position of Career Readiness Educator/Work Base Learning at Cyber Academy of South Carolina.
Pastor Bynum has served as Minister of Music for over three decades. In the early 90's, he had the distinct honor to tour with Pastor John P. Kee & New Life Community Choir. He was featured on the CDs "Wash Me" and the VIP Arts & Seminar Choir "Never Shall Forget". He used his musical gifts to serve as Instructor for the University of South Carolina - Upstate Gospel Choir from 2009 - spring of 2013.
In 2005, Pastor Bynum answered the call to preach the Gospel. On August 20, 2006, he preached his initial sermon at St. Paul Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC. On Sunday, October 21, 2012, Rev. Erik Cummings, Sr. Pastor of New Life Baptist Church of Carol City, Florida ordained Pastor Bynum.
